Hello all - first post, but badly need info on this rather urgent question.
While in 1st gear & moving, truck has power up until it hits 2000 RPM @ 20 MPH. Few points of interest below:
* While power braking in gear (0 MPH), truck has lots of power and does not cut out at 2000 RPM - and it is throwing a lot of smoke.
* Only does this while in motion
* Throws a P236 code after a few times running on street
* Place truck in 4 Low, truck goes to ~8 MPH, but still hangs at 2000 RPM

Bottom line it seems to be speed sensitive but really limited to 2000 RPM while in motion -even as I lightly touch the pedal, thus not much load at all.

Any ideas? Thank you and let me know. Truck is stuck at my friends house.

air at the injector pump or raw fuel coming in. white smoke is usually air.
black smoke is too much fuel.

let the wizards impart their knowledge of the code.

 

Thx. No smoke while in motion, only when I power brake it to overcome the TQ Conv stall-speed.
A bit more info with the day light.
While power braking (Edge Comp turned up) it DOES as well limit itself to 2000 RPM.
I have bypassed both the Edge & Co-Pilot - still limits to 2000 RPM and will not shift out of 1st (both in Hi-Range & 4-low).
Weird.
Still get a p236 code - but not consistantly.

 

i have run into this before , the computer is defueling because of the p0236 code, it senses an overboost so it cuts back the fuel until the boost drops to a "safe" level (25 psi) ...replace your boost sensor and or get a boost fooler and problems solved ( my opinion) you should totally remove the edge to eliminate any possible corroded or bad connections ...i had the same problem untill i replaced the edge wiring harness. good luck

 

I removed the Edge Comp.
Still no luck. It was VERY intermittent, now will NOT go away.
It will rev to the moon while in Neutral.
Put it in D, governs at 2000 RPM. I the p236 code has not come back. Another weird scenario.
