Unhappy Potential future problems...

Hi everyone, I am not a new diesel enthusiast, but I am a new diesel owner. I'm having a few problems with my '02 24valve that i was hoping to get some insight on. I've read a few threads about problems similar to mine but not exactly. I seem to be experiencing "dead pedal," but only above 60 mph. I'll be accelerating on the interstate and the truck will just stop accelerating instantly, once it slows down to about 60 mph, it will come back on. Also, when the truck sits overnight and first fires up in the morning, it will belch blue/white smoke. It also sounds like it is running on 4 cylinders when this occurs. Once it gets a little heat in it, it's fine. It's not just cold out when it happens either. I have taken my tuner out of the truck but no difference. I have also pulled the code P0216 out of the truck with my tuner, unfortunately. I guess what I would like to know is will I be buying an injection pump in the near future? Will my pump last longer right now without the tuner in it? And, what can I expect to pay for a pump? Thanks for any advice and insight, it is greatly appreciated. By the way the truck has 51,000 miles.

Do you have gauges? Especially fuel pressure? That is THE most important gauge for these trucks unless you're running a raptor or fass fuel pump. What are your fp numbers?

No, i don't have any guages, fuel pressure is unknown. I run the tuner on the lowest tune.

Pump is right at $1000 plus install. Check that fuel pressure ASAP. Yours sounds likr how mine went out. I would take the tuner off to keep from any additional strain on the pump.
