possible damage from boost leak?
A few weeks ago I found a boost leak, lower intercooler boot, while changing a fog light. I'm not sure how long it was loose, probably quite a while...it must have been gradual, I didn't notice a loss in power, but noticed an increase once the boot was tight again. (and a decrease in turbo noise) Mileage, obviously, went up too.
I haven't towed anything lately, pulled a car trailer full of small square bales, couldn't have been 5k lbs, and I hauled my snowmobile in the bed a few times. Other than that, just a lot of empty highway miles.
Is it possible to damage anything running pretty much unloaded for a few (maybe several) months? or should I not worry about it?
Thanks, chris

Nothing to worry about. Fix it up and "Drive it, like you stole it." Maybe carboned it up a little so the next time you feel like a little WOT action let er rip.
Could tell you wife you need to buy a Smarty to "fix" it.
