Poor 47re...
Poor 47re...
So with only the edge ez, and my heavy foot, I think my tranny is upset...again. I'm wondering if the solenoids on these trannys tend to give out, or do i need to adjust my bands (under 10k miles since last adjustment). it'll run through the gears fine, but on the 3-4 upshift, it skips. It will rev for a moment, before catching the 4th gear. Part of the problem is that in normal driving around here, this is the speed where i usually have to get off the pedal anyway, so maybe the tranny has "learned" to delay 3-4 shift or is now expecting me to get off the fuel at the top of 3rd gear? If we get some snow up here in the northeast this winter, Mr. Dave Goerend will be getting a cheery business phone call
The 3-4 shift and the TC lockup are controlled by the PCM. If you have a lot of noise on the APPS input to the PCM the 3-4 shift will also be delayed, because the PCM sees much higher throttle position than the ECM controlling the engine. With the 3-4 shift taking place in the OD unit of the 47 re it should not rev if the od isn't in yet. I think that either your tc locks in 3rd and unlocks again when going to overdrive and then re-locks, or you have killed your OD clutches already.
