Please Help!!!!
I Have A Dodge 2000 With A Cummings 5.9 L Diesel engine That I have Been Having Problems With I had a new injection pump put in and i have replaced the fuel filter and the ignition switch after replacing my fuel injection pump my truck ran for about 4 months then after changing out my ignition switch because my my truck started chugging to the point it wont stay running thought it was the ignition switch so got another on now my truck is chugging and wont start change out the fuel filter and it still wont run when i break open my number one injector's i can get it to run but as i tighten it back up i can hear my injectors start to stop and it will stall out does anyone have any ideas what could be going on.
You say that you had a new Injection pump put in but you do not mention the lift pump that feeds the injection pump. The lift pump is the weak link that causes the injection pump to starve for fuel and go out.
You need to check the lift pump and see what kind of fuel pressure you have... and by the way...there is NO "G" in Cummins

I Forgot to mention that i also replaced the lift pump I think i found the problem i had air in my system i found a injector that was a little loose and my drain valve was not all the way locked down so i am assuming somewhere in between the 2 i was sucking in some air. I am hoping this is my problem. It is Up And Running Now thank you very much.
