Please help!!!

Well, as stated in my previous thread, i have a shudder on take off of my truck. It is like a pulling, bucking feeling. I can even feel it at highway speeds when i step in the throttle. I just got back with my driveshaft with new front and rear u-joints. That did not fix the problem. When i am on a hill and put it in low, it will bounce and make a clatter and popping sound. And a popping bucking when i turn left or right. When I accelerate at 60-70mph, jst a pulling rocking feeling. The rpms contine to climb as normal when accelerating.

BTW- the truck DOES NOT do any of this in reverse, or 4-wheel drive.

Please help, saturday i will be installing my walbro 392 kit and would like to correct this problem then as well. Thanks.

Could it be the small driveshaft u-joints from the transfer case to the front diff????

When my front driveshaft ujoints went out I didn't have any shudder, just a vibration above 60 mph. The sound is like driving over a metal bridge. Can't hurt to check them out though.

Good luck.

I had this problem....twice. First time I had just got back from the lake with the boat....carrier bearing...Is your truck a long bed as well? Second it was acting all crazy when I'd get on it, and at higher rpm's. I noticed that the last time I changed oil I left my brand new fuel filter on the shelf in the garage. I work construction so the dusty environment causes me to change mine more often. Swapped the filter problem solved. Hope it helps

Mine is a SWB so no carrier bearing. i did notice the 4x4 driveshaft had some play in it, about an inch each direction. Is that too much? What signs should i look for.

PS. I recently changed my fuel filter, pressure is fine, and rpms are steady.

You still have a carrier bearings, it with the ring and pinion in the pumpkin holding the carrier in place. 1" of travel is too much slop. Now is that the slop in the ujoints or the slop in the shaft.

That is when i grab the shaft and twist it back and fourth.
