p-pump conversion
p-pump conversion
thinking of performing the p7100 pump conversion on my 01 2500. i know haisley machine has the lines and some other parts. my question is does the engine light stay on? are there any electrical mods required? do you keep your 01 pcm or do you need an older controller? is there any links on a complete conversion on this site?
Keep everything you have intact electrically. Disconnect the VP. You will have to modify the APPS so it will work with the mechanical linkage. You will need a cam sensor bracket, and have to machine out part of the timing case so it will read the tone wheel on the back of the cam gear. Other wise you lose your tach, and a host of other things. I have no check engine light on in my truck, and it only has two codes.
If you go to competitiondiesel.com, look up my name (same as here), there is a link to my photos from my conversion. Mine will be easier, since it isn't an auto, but there are guys there that have done it with an auto.
