Ok, Something has got to change

Jeez, how many of these EDIT am I gonna have to put on this truck. I've lost track, third or fourth IP, that many or maybe one more, Xfer pump. I gotta have some relief. The last one has got a whole 20,000 on it. I have contacted a guy about the p pump conversion. Any other ideas about this? Has the aftermarket pump(was it blue line?) alone helped the vp's last any longer at all? Off to search......

I think you just answered your own question. Put some Power service or ND 30wt in there with it. I run 1/3 bottle (small one) to a tank of fuel. Granted my truck only has 40K on it, that and the JD oil in the pan should help it last a loooooong time.

You really need to be adding an additive to your fuel all of the time. The lubricity of today's diesel is really poor. 32 OZ of Power Service white bottle per tank = 185K miles on my original VP-44.

use an additive and lose the stock fuel delivery system; don't forget the fuel pressure gauge.

Knowing what went wrong inside of each of your VP44s would give an indication of how to resolve your problem.

I was under the impression that these pumps were designed to operate with the newer low sulfur fuel? Which way would you guys go(I know, there's a debate) with the alternate fuel delivery? I wonder how many that go with the FASS(just a different pump in the same location?)have had further lift pump problems? Am I correct in the impression that the FASS II is the same pump w/ a relocation kit?(hose, fittings, filter?)

I dont know about lung cancer, but I'm pretty sure dropping one down a defrost vent might cause a truck to catch on fire...............

The FASS has a filter & air seperator. The FASS II (actual name is HPFP, High Preformace, Fuel Pump) is just the pump. Both come with mounting kits, hoses, fittings.

Click on fass fuel pumps at the top to see the FASS II.

If my truck went thru that many ip's, I think I would be looking for other problems. Electrical system......fuel delivery system?
