oiling issues

oiling issues

any one had any oiling issues in their 24 valve? it seemes that the stp oil filter that the car dealer installed has come apart and cloged #6 oil squiter the after math is a 2000$ rebuild. just wondering if any one has ever tried going after a oil company for such repairs. thanks

It's not the oil company you're after. It's the filter manufacturer. Hope you have saved oil sample and filter to support your legal effort.

Personally no. I've read of it happening to others when using low grade oil filters like fram, ect. Just a word of advice for your future. Use Fleetgaurd oil filters next time. They're one of the best. You could either do the oil change yourself or supply the filter to the lube shop to replace for you. You can buy them at your local cummins shop or Geno garage to name a few. Sorry to hear about your truck.
