Oil drain plug woes!
I have one of these:

Pretty handy. Adds roughly 5 hp.

The only thing you have to consider with either the FEMCO or Fumotomo is that you have a 2 wd and the plug DOES hang down a bit from the pan (3/4" maybe). If you ever drove over something on the road, or offroad for that matter it could conceivably break off. Chances are slim though - but something to consider.
This one, while not a quick drain type looks pretty stout:

I"ve got a couple of customers that have had that issue. We used the Mopar gray rtv at the base of the drain plug (little ring at the base of the plug in the groove where the seal rides) and that has sealed them up fine.
This is one of those items that following the torque specs is not required (to me). I have always just threaded it in by hand and then snugged it with the wrench. Works good and I have yet to break the bolt.
I also use the Femco. My stock plug split the steel washer off with 44ft lbs using a torque wrench. The ******* wanted $15 for the plug and (sit down) $15 for the washer. I informed him it was only a washer and left.

Nope thats the recomended torque for the drain plug. Chances are the threads in pan are fine and you just got a crappy washer as I did.
I use one of the drain plugs from geno's ,and I love it quick, clean and no tightening just a flick of a finger

and cracked the plug..did you crack the pan/threads? could be just a hairline that when you put pressure on it with the new plug opens up for leaks.
