OEM style FASS???

I have found an OEM style FASS LP at Geno's Garage ( http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....FASS_DDRP_9899 ) and was wondering if anyone had any good or bad feed back on the pump or Geno's garage. I would love to get a remote mount FASS or AirDog, but i dont have the money to get that (i'll be stretching to get the money for this one.) Also if you have any info about anyother set ups for UNDER $300 please let me know ASAP. (due to the fact that i am running on less that 5 psi at idle and about 3 psi at cruising speed.)

There is a few posts floating around about the DDRP and the fail rate was pretty high, do a search and see what comes up.

Try Vulcan performance, get larger fuel lines and relocate the pump to the back, it certainly improves the PSI, check out the fuel boss (mechanical pump) its more money but no electric pump to fail,
still trying to keep under the 300$ budget will be difficult, especially if you toss that much at it and it fails again....500$ for an Airdog will garrentee you wont spend anymore cash on a LP again......

Geno garages is an excellent vender,

ok, i'll try this a 3rd time (internet keeps disconnecting right as i click "submit reply" and everything goes bye bye)

So. After looking around I have decided that I am going to adjust to a $500 budget, I have done some research on FASS and AirDog, but dont know what would be best for my application. I'm only planning on using a programer (HyperTech MaxEnergy) and getting a exhaust and intake in the next few years. So I dont think I need the 150 GPH pumps. Also I would like to stay away from anything that I would need to install a draw straw.

Thanks in advance.

Either Fass or Airdog you will be fine, I believe the 100 is good for 500hp, I got the 150 and if I had to do it again I'd have just went with the 100, I dont expect to get to 500hp, and if I did I'm sure the 100 would have kept up. I have a post on the Cummins site with regards to the 1/4 fuel issue. I'll try to find it for you.
Do more research on the intake idea, from what I've read there is little to no gain on a 24V (2nd Gen) so take that money and put it where it would benifet you most, like injectors which depending on your mileage, would be due for replacing as a normal maintenance item

Any of the bypass (filter style) pumps require a use of a DrawStraw. The non filter models do not require it but I always recommend it.

I bought this pump a couple of weeks ago, seems to be fine so far, im not sure that it flows as much as the carter though. When I really stomp on it I can pull it down to 10 psi. With my carter reloed to the frame I could only pull it to 12. I went ahead and put this pump in the stock location on the block because it wouldnt clear my front driveshft on the frame. I still have all of the 1/2" and 3/8" fuel line in the system with JIC fittings. Im starting to wish I just held out for the FASS HPFP like I was originally saving for but I saw this and bought it instead. Oh well, I will see how it go's, at least it has a four year warranty. I only have the mods that are in my sig, later on I was planning on adding a comp box, I dont think I can now, not with this pump.

ok, so I got the FASS DDRP and installed it today. WHAT A PAIN!!! it was hard to get in there. Now i only have one problem, I only have about 11-12psi at idle and it drops to about 8 when i hit the throttle. i dont know what it is when i'm driving cause i dont have the money to buy a in-cab gauge, so i bought a 0-30psi gauge from the hardware store, and a 1/2" female npt to 1/8" male npt fitting and screwed it into the outermost fitting on my "filter" housing. please help me know whats going on.

thanks

I was also going to suggest the Fuel Boss, but I see you've already spent your money.

get a chunk of hose and run your gauge you have on the filter into the cab, if your dropping to 8psi with no load on the motor, I'll bet you will be 3-4psi under load.....
you might want to send the pump back and get another one.

i was reading last night after posting last. and read that if the VP is subject to under 5psi the diaphram in it is allowed to move too much and can cause dracks. I was running on under 5 psi for atleast a month, maybe more. Could i need a new VP.

I wouldn't worry about it till you get a code, i ran mine at 2-6 psi for a while i left the power adders off so i won't put a big demand on it, but i needed the truck so i had to run it for a little while like that and that was a over a year ago, still have the same vp.

I also have just gone through the lift pump struggles, put on another factory because i was in a bind, 13 months later dead again. Then tried a holley blue, IMO just another waste of time even with a big line kit, at highway speed still single digits fuel pressure and yes i stretched the spring. Finally got an airdog even though i don't need it for my power level by the time i add up all my wasted money and time, and consider the warranty it has i wish i would have bought one right away and been done. Now 14,15,16 psi no matter what i throw at it. I may have had a little more trouble up here (MN) then some would have with the lesser pumps because i was trying to pump diesel fuel in -20 degrees
