Say what???? Born and raised in Buffalo, and would love to go back......if there was an AF base there. Don't get me wrong though AK is incredible....best place I've ever been. I can't say the same about Texas.
Seems to me that only native Texans, or people that can't handle cold weather are the only ones hooked on Texas....rightfully so.

Well, jj3500, a couple extra thoughts for you trip. I keep a used serpentine belt in the truck as a spare...you never know.
Check your wipers, lights...extra key in your wallet, spare tire air pressure. Duct tape a must

Born and raised in West Texas!! I love cold weather. We had 6 inches of snow last week, today it was 70+, tonight it will get down in the 30's. Heck, i remember some days there has been a 60 degree diference in the high and low. Gotta love that West Texas weather. If you don't like it, stick around 30 minutes and it will change.

Yes Texans are proud people. How many other states were and still could be their own country?

God Bless Texas!!

Just a few thoughts,as far as takeing the trip to NY to the Lone Star, man every week I go from Detroit to Indiana and then head south, most of the time to Florida,EVERY WEEK,common sense, preventive maintance,a bunch of Waylon and Wille ,Stevie Ray Vaughan, that little rock n roll band from down in Texas(ZZ Top) Billie Joe Shaver CD's ect,say a little prayer to keep you and yours safe on the road, and just enjoy the ride.
Now on the Texas matter,I am a full blown Yank, but when ever I am down in Texas, the folks down there sure do make me feel welcome,I think alot of folks could be better off if they dun thangs the way they all are doin thangs down in that FINE STATE OF TEXAS

Dresser Dave,

OMG! You just named off some of my favorites!! Not many people know about Billy Joe Shaver. I saw him live three years ago at Greune Hall with Kinky Friedman. He is one of the greatest song writers ever. The way he sings reminds me of my grandfather singing gospel hymns. One of Waylon's best albums was Honky Tonk Heros. Waylon singing Shaver, can't beat that. With musical taste like yours, we Texans might make you an honorary resident. Some of my favorite Texas musicains and writers in no particular order are Mr. Nelson (Abbott, Texas), Mr. Jennings (Littlefield, Texas), Don Williams (Floydada, Texas), Mr. Shaver (Corsicana, Texas), Gary P. Nunn (Brownfield, Texas), Bob Wills (Kosse, Texas), Roy Orbison (Vernon, Texas), and, well I could go on, but I have hijacked this tread enough.

Had to toss my 5 gallon hat in.....God Bless Texas.......hahaha......though a little windy up here on the Oklahoma Border......funny how its always a southern wind....its a good thing though....or we might fall off in to the Gulf of Mexico......I KID, I KID!!!!! All in good fun! Lord knows i have donated enough through the casino!

Like stated above, just check all your fluids. Look for leaks. Check tire pressure, look for nails. Would take some oil on the trip and extra belt just incase. Bring some Sea Foam or some sort of cleaner....what better time to run it through your truck if you don’t usually! Check Air/Fuel Filter.......and if your VP44 goes out in Texas....let me know...would be glad to offer a hand! haha.......

Im done!

Moose,
Probably good that you dont! She's already screwed with the heads of a number of Palmer's male population including a buddy of mine who has moved back to Maine to get away from her.
