NV5600 Flywheel Tolerences???
Does anyone know the minimum thickness allowed before a guy has to replace his flywheel. I have machined mine twice and I'm wondering if I can machine it once more with adding a new clutch???
it really depends on how much has been removed, at some point you will loose release of the clutch, some people shim them to correct the release, but the thinner the flywheel the less heat ditisipation you have.
From what I was reading in the factory service manual, they don't reccomend any material removal over .003", for minor scoring. I'm betting theres more than that from two re-surfacings. It also said something about a unique contour on the flywheel. No more specifics given. Only spec they gave was runout, which was also .003".
Thanks guys. I'm just going to get a new flywheel with my new Southbend Con FE. No sense even trying to machine it again...
Too bad I couldn't find one in good shape around here???
