I could be wrong but I think the 12" was in the 99-00 ETC and the 13" was in
the 01-02 ETH or basically just the HO model.

I'm pretty sure you have a H.O.
Look for an engine tag under the APPS. It will say either 235 or 245 HP.

Also, in your VIN #, the 8th digit will be "6" if it's a S.O. and "7" if it's a H.O.

6 speeds were an option in 99 an 2k, which was behind the 235hp ETC (SO) engine.

DEA is 1.250" with 12.250" clutch, starter bolts directly to engine adaptor

DEE is 1.375" with 13" clutch, starter bolts thru a spacer to the engine adaptor

Do you have pics of a valve cover that does say HO on it on the 2nd gens?

I'd like to know this too.
As far as I know, none of them say HO on the valve cover.

They don't say HO on the v.c.

A better method is the starter attachment mentioned earlier.

The '99 5600s are rare, and the 00s rarer still.

Suffice, if it's a 6-speed and earlier than 01 model year, you have the smaller clutch.

With pre-owned trucks, WYSIWYG rules - the starter attachment is the best method, but is still not really definite, as the PO may have gone with SBC or TST redrilled flywheel\13" clutch for the larger input shaft, which would not need the spacer - even the DEA and DEE designations are not totaly sure, as the DEA 1.250" transmission may have been repaired with the 1.375" shaft - that is a direct swapout, with the larger retainer\collar.

However, if there is a spacer between the starter and the adaptor, it is most likely the 13" clutch with the large-shaft DEE transmission.
