NV4500 screeching
NV4500 screeching
I went vacation a last week, left my truck at home to sit. Now that I’m back home I went and started it up like normal and now there is a loud screeching noise coming from the transmission. If I push the clutch in it gets dampened a little bit but still remains. I’m not 100% sure what it might be, was just kinda wondering somethings to look at when I get the chance to pull the transmission.
Did you check the oil level in your trans?
I could imagine a sticking starter (reduction of noise with the clutch pedal pressed coincidence or slight deflection of the flywheel), damaged throwout bearing (coincidence that it happened during your vacation) or something wrong in the tranny. (Oil level first, if OK drain oil through a strainer and see what remains in the strainer)
