Hello;
The truck in my sig is what I'm asking about here.
My transmission is starting to show it's age. It still drives and shifts, but is taking more effort. Also, I can't get into reverse without a slight grinding unless I first move the shift lever to 1st gear, then straight over to reverse.
Also the shift from 1st to 2nd gear is getting dicey. I think maybe just the synchros are wearing out.
I religiously change the fluid and only use the factory-stuff from mopar.
Any recommendations for a supplier for a rebuilt unit, or any good rebuilders in the St. Louis area?
I can remove/install this transmission myself to save some $$; but aint no way I'm taking it apart..

When my getrag started doing that it was the clutch not the tranny, if it was grinding going into first or second gear when you are stopped then I would say syncros, jmho

Thanks for the reply. The clutch is not very old in this truck. South Bend OFE with only about 20k miles on it. I also put on the upgraded hydraulic unit at the same time. Shift fork looks good and new throw out bearing.

Did you figure this out yet? If not, I would suggest you call SB too and let them know whats going on.
Other than that, if you have the adjustable hydraulics then maybe you need to give the clutch pedal a little more leverage. Maybe the slave isnt pushing far enough. Definitely somethings not right if you're getting any grinding. You NEVER want to force them into gear because that tears the synchro's up...
