Question Nv4500 questions

Ok i have finally started gathering parts for my 47re to nv4500 swap. My question is what year models will be compatable to my 2001 24valve motor. I have seen many nv4500's from 94 to 2002.

2001 ext cab short bed CTD,4x4, Quad ADR, Fass 150/150, soon to be Nv4500!! 1/2" fuel lines,

soon, injectors,head studs,p-pump,and Hopefully twins!

94-2002 is the same except how the stick attaches, 98-02 bolts on, 94-97 has bayonet lock. Also a minor difference in how the TC lever attaches.

I think there is a difference in the 98-02 pedals compared to 94-97, something about how the master cylinder attaches to the clutch bracket. I think they will still work though.

IIRC there is a good write-up in here somewhere swapping to a manual and parts list...

As stated above the trans is basically the same (except 98+ got a revised 5th gear nut, and reverse ratio changed sometime) but there are other details that change from 94-97 to 98-02, like which input to order for transfer case, narrow vs. wide input bearing. And like patdaly said the clutch pedal assembly is a bit different. Basically if you can get all the "accessories" for your year truck (at least 98+) you should be good.

Gorms, do you have both part numbers for the TC input for both wide and narrow? I have only ever seen 1 part number, wondered how they had a wide and narrow bearing with the same input......

I don't have either part number. Got my input off ebay (cheap!) but it has held up so far. I can't remember if I had wide or narrow to begin with, but I got a shaft for wide bearing a new wide bearing from quad4x4 when I converted.

Their site shows different numbers for the 2 shafts if you scroll down a bit. They also specify which assembly numbers came with a narrow/wide bearing....maybe somewhere there's a chart that would give the o.e. numbers for said assemblies. I dunno!

Maybe they listed different parts #s, as a DLD and DHD case are different???
The DHD has a thicker chain and 6 planetary gears rather than the DLDs 3 gears and 3/4 inch narrower chain.
