NP241 Vibration?

Hey guys,

Sadly my truck sat parked for a month, now I have a nasty vibration. I assumed it was the tires flat spotting. I am replacing them shortly and will eliminate that. However, I feel that it is not tires, I crawled under the truck today and was able to push the front driveshaft T-case end up and down. The play is not in the ujoint but looks to be the bearing in the front of the T-case. Once the new tires are on I will do a test drive with and without the front shaft to test it. If this is the source of the vibration has anyone successfully changed that bearing while on the truck? I know it sounds lazy but it wouldn't be my first go around at pulling the t-case (not fun). I have listed more info below.

All Ujoints replaced less than 40k miles
Carrier bearing replaced less than 40k miles.
Wheel bearings are tight
Ball joints are tight

Thanks in advance!

That sounds like your problem, It should be snug...It may be easier to drop the t-case than clear space for a pit change...

It would depend on the year of your truck and if you have the CAD front axle or not. If you have the CAD axle then the transfer case is not the source of your vibration as the front driveshaft shouldn't be spinning while driving in 2 hi. That is unless you unknowingly have the TC in 4wd. But if you dont have the CAD then yes it could be the vibration as long as the vibration can be described as fast and harmonic. If its a slow wobbly vibration then its probably the tires.
