Nozzles or Injectors
Nozzles or Injectors
Just curious what the main difference between getting either new nozzles for stock injectors or the complete injector....would the end result be the same assuming my stock injectors are good?
Thanks

Yup, most likely the result will be the same. The complete injectors will be shipped with the squirt (pop) pressure already calibrated. With nozzles, you'll need to have the local diesel pump repair shop do the calibration for you.
Yup, the nozzles have a spring on the pintles that the injector pump pressure has to overcome before the pintles raise up off the seat and squirt. Each spring is shimmed so this pressure at squirt can be set to the Cummins spec. 4250psi +or- 250psi.
The pressure affects injector timing and spray conditions.
