Now it wont start!

Thanks for the help on the chirping belt thread. Need more help with starting issue. In the mornings it would take quite a few cranks, turn it off, crank again with a little throttle and boom it starts. Wouldn't have trouble the rest of the day. Now cranks and does not start. Fuel relays are clicking, pump is clicking on and sounds like its working. Opened fuel filter bleed off and turned key on. Pressure through bleed off tube never changed. Glow plugs or bad lift pump are my concerns. Steer me the right directions please. If its the lift pump I'm ordering a new one tomorrow from air dog.

if its the 02 turn the key on 3 times to get the code if its the 99 get the codes pulled before you start changing parts then go from there. you need bump the starter to get thefuel pump to start pumping . a fuel pressure gauge is your friend.

I know I need a set of gauges for everything, fuel pressure, egt, boost, etc. I have plans for all the a little at a time. I just bought this thing and just need it to be a reliable truck for now. Then ill get the bhaf, exhaust, gauges, etc. All help and advice that can keep me from pissing money into the wind would be great. I know these trucks are the best and run forever when taken care of.

No glow plugs on your rig. You have an Intake Air Heater (IAT). Don't ever use starting fluid!

Crack the injector line and see if you are getting fuel to #3 while cranking.

You're throwing APPS code voltage too low (0122 and 0121 same)

code 1693 is common, thats not a start issue. bump the starter crack fuel line at the pump and make sure it drounds you. if not put an AIRDOG on it. if you dont have a airdog you need one anyway if it has good pressure(min10psi up to 18-20 to much is bad too) goin to the pump retightin the line. then crack injectors one at a time while cranking and retightin if no pressure at injector lines ever it maybe the vp44

P0121
Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/
Performance Problem
P0122 Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Low Input

these are tps issues or possibly a vp44 issue, might be able to clean the tps sensor with some electic contact cleaner possibly;/

Well the wife and I went out and bled the system. It started. Yay!

Ok the yay part was gay.

Edit: I think there is an air leak in the system somewhere. We went to dinner and came back home to find the **** truck had to crank for a good 30 seconds before it started again. **** where to begin chasing that mess down. I would imagine a small leak(not leaving fuel on the ground) would be enough to cause this issue.....?

Where is the pressure bleed off valve located? Is it at the tee where the fuel line splits at the back of the block? Is it possible for that to stick open and allow bleed off? Do the fuel filter canister O rings have a habit of failing and causing my air in fuel system issue?

Parked it nose down in my driveway last night. It sat there all day and fired right up tonight. It has to have an air leak letting it bleed off back to tank. Arrgg how to fix it. My idea is install an air dog which bypasses and replaces the lines and components from the air dog to the vp44 and back. My thought process here is the lines and components that could be causing the leak by would be bypassed... Any ideas from you all?
