No lock up!!

Bought a 2001 4x4 yesterday .

The torque converter doesnt lock up in OD. what could be the problem?

Another thing, why would the 4x4 shifter vibrate so much at slow accelerating? im not really concerened, the noise ticks me off!

Could be the retainer for the boost valve is broke. I had that happen once.

Of course, other VB issues. Possibly no lockup signal from the PCM.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Shift pattern on 2001 is: 1 to 2nd, 2nd to third or direct, lock up, and fourth or Overdrive with lock up. Engage OD off and get up to speed for upshift. At least 50 MPH and disengage OD off. Did it make the OD upshift? You may be looking at bad Output RPM sensor, or solenoids in VB messing up. An then it may be telling reason last owner let it go.
