No fuel pump buzzing or pressure

Truck ran good yesterday, 11 psi fuel pressure, now this morning no buzzing sound and no pressure. I looked for a relay or fuse. Is there a breaker or relay somewhere hidden? Pump is about 1 year old. 2001 Truck

I am going on two assumptions here: 1. You are running the original style carter pump mounted next to the fuel filter, and 2. It is below freezing in Manitoba. On that style of lift pump, and where it is located in the system, it has a bad tendency to trap water, being the first "trap" in the fuel flow. It is possible that the water has frozen in the pump. On my old 2000, I drained about 2 tbsp. of water out of my failed pump. Installed a water separator/filter before the new pump and never had another problem with it. Try warming the pump up with a hair dryer and see if that will make it run.

Hope that gets you going, although at 11 psi it sounds like it may be getting a little weak. Should be around 15 at idle. If you do need a replacement, and don't want to go the FASS route, Cummins dealers or Genoes Garage have them much cheaper than Dodge. I don't know if Dodge even sells them anymore since they were converting everything to an in-tank pump. If warming it up does get it going again, take the pump off and drain the water out. Again, for that setup, I highly recommend a water separator to keep it from ever getting to the pump. I got real lucky and found a NAPA filter assembly complete with drain valve on ebay. Sorry I can't recall the part numbers, but there are many companies that make them for marine and commercial applications.

its winter and cold, the grid heater draw is intense, mine does the same thing but once its done cycling it builds pressure.

Great advice on getting a filter before the pump.

I put one on mine pre pump made by permacool that i picked up from summit racing mounted it on the inner frame just in front of the fuel tank. Nice big spin on filter with a water drain tap on the bottom and a spare element under the seat, so far for 3 years or more now my walbro fuel pump,vp44 and i are very happy.
