Nightmare
Nightmare
Let my roommate borrow my truck. Proceeded to put 5 gallons of Unleaded in it and drive it for 20 miles. The truck only had about 10 gallons of diesel at the time. I'm going to lift off the bed to get to the tank (done it before). What other headaches can I expect in fixing this nightmare?
Man it has happened to the best and the worst of us. I did it to my 7.3 Ford the first week. In my defense if there is one, I was in 2' of snow in Denver and I was at a BP with the green handles. So they tricked me.
Anyway, I filled it up to the top, about 26 gallons. Only drove across the street to Home Depot and I siphoned it out in to cans. refilled with diesel and have never thought about it again.
I think this might be a great time to run 10-15 gallons of Bio if you can find it, after at least siphoning the tank I mean.

Thanks, I'll Try
Giong to drain the tank and the fuel filter. I've had it happen before, and the truck just shut off at the station. Can't believe it drove so far on Unleaded. I hope it didn't screw anything up in the engine.
Hate to hear this. You'll probably be ok. The big thing is the gas dosen't lube the Inj Pump. I had this happen several years ago. We had a compressor go out at a shop I worked in, and we had to rent two to get the same cfm. One gas and one deisel. Sent someone to check on them and they topped off each tank by swapping cans. It was only 5 gal so it didn't hurt either. The gas compressor smoked a bit. When I got my ctd, my mom heard about me getting better mileage than her with her Tahoe, so she was going to put deisel in her Tahoe. Luckily we were able to catch her before she did. If you can't get bio, then you might add some additive that has some higher lubricty stuff in it, if it's available.
