Newest Pump Munbers

Installed my fuel pressure gauge two months ago.
Started with 14psi idle , 9 WOT. Added a month
ago, Van Aaken box and RV275 injectors. Over the last week
pressures are slowly going down. Now 12psi idle and
7 psi WOT. Do I need a new lift pump, and if I do whats
the newest part number for a 2001 model year. Lastly
if I have to change it out, is there a link to intructions
I could go to.

Your numbers, IMO, are not bad... YET. I would keep an eye on 'em, and maybe look at picking up a FASS II for when it goes, because it could go quickly.

Your numbers are not doing any damage to the VP44 theoretically, again, others have differing opinions. When mine went, it was putting out 10-11 at idle and I could get it to 4-5 at WOT. It operated like that for a month or two. Then, one day, it would show 11 at idle, and as soon as I gave it gas, drop to 0-3. That was it. New pump was installed and solved my problem.

Just keep an eye on it. If it goes, get a FASS II. That's what I'm going to do when my current (second) goes. If you don't want to go that route, I would highly recommend, at a minimum, larger banjos. Or do it well, and get Scotty's high flow kit. Anything you can do to help the lift pump work "less" should, in theory, improve it's lifespan. I'm currently running larger banjos and it bought me another .5-1 psi at idle and 1-2 at WOT from the new lift pump. I still show 15 at idle with warm fuel and have for 8-9 months now.

Oh, ya, I forgot to mention. Mine was covered under warranty (in theory), but I have heard of so many issues with warranty coverage ( they evaluate the pump NOT based on psi, but on ounces per minute), that I figured I would just pay for it and do it myself instead of dealing with the dealership hassle.

Another individual on the TDR said he wrote a letter to DC and included the receipt saying he couldn't get the truck down to the dealership so he had to do it himself. He asked DC to reimburse the cost of the liftpump (from Cummins). About 6 weeks later, he got a check. I have not done this myself.
