New Tranny, but now everything else bad

So I took my truck to the local tranny shop cuz my 2000 3/4 camper special was getting worse and worse at slipping under towing.

When I got it back and took it out to pull my boat to the lake, I noticed first of all:
1) The cruise control will not lock in
2) The heater flow control **** doesn't work anymore
3) The check engine light is on (something like a govenor high voltage)
4) The existing trouble light (low window wiper/water) light is now NOT on
5) The edge attitude says the tranny temp is 7

He told me during teardown that the temp sensor from Edge was too long, and that it broke a "servo"? inside the tranny which caused the tranny to start going bad.

Before I brought the truck to him everything worked fine.

Does anybody have any idea if there was something his staff might have done to cause all of these problems? Because he is denying responsibility for everything, and I already paid him. He says that the heater direction control and the cruise control are units behind the dash that will require removal of the dash. I just have the air conditioner rebuilt a year ago for $1200!!!

I could see it if there was just one thing that went wrong, but all these things going wrong at the same time?????

He says he only works under the truck, and had nothing to do with any of the problems ...

I am SOOOO angry right now I could just squish a bug!

On a positive note, the tranny is SOLID !

search works!

I did a search and found that it was a vacuum issue for the Cruise and heater controls. The trans shop replaced the gov.solenoid so thats good too. I put him in touch with Edge to solve the temp sending issue so that should wrap everything up here.

Sorry for the panic post, but I was freaking out for a spell there...

Yes that is common for the sending unit to do that when installing a chip with a sending unit.

First time I've ever heard that.
Where is this temp sensor located? In the pan or in the line?

yes, I would like to know where you installed your temp sensor as well. I installed mine from the J w/A in an available plugged port on the passenger side of the trans and I never had any probs with broken solenoids or some such.

Cheers!

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Many install the temp sensor in the pressure test prot for KD servo. When band adjustment gets loose the servo contacts the sensor end and destroys something. Unknowing people make unwise choices.

OK dozer12216, can you please detail for us (or at least me), the unknowing, exactly where on the trans body the KD servo pressure port is? The reason I ask is that there are more than one plugs on the external casing of the trans. If I have jacked into the KD servo pressure port than I will definitely be moving my sensor location to a better place.

Thanks in advance for your help on this!

Cheers!

Mike

I put it where the Edge manual told me to!

I installed the sensor where the manual directed me to put it, so ease up on the harshness eh? sheesh!
On the passenger side, somewhere in the middle/front of the tranny...

on the topic of measuring tranny temp, I had mine in the spot reccommended by edge, that spot is not very good, as fluid apparently does not actually circulate thru there, so basically your lucky if you get any type of reading, I found at the time it just seemed like the temp edventually climbed, almost as if it was measuring the case temp.
I since switched to measuring at the cooler output line and now I actually see a tranny temp that responds to load and engine speed.

I used the clamp on block and screwed the sender into it, easy and no fuss no mess

I made mine out of a block of alunimum, but I copied this design, took all of 10mins to make. and works flawlessly, with no chance of ever springing a leak.I can actually see my tranny temps rise and fall where before they did not
