first I would like to say great site. I am currently shopping for a 99 to 02 short bed ex cab 4x4. I drove one today that I am interested in but I have a question. this was the first one I drove with 5 in exust and it seemed like the turbo sounded funny.it did not realy have the whisle sound the others I drove had.it also needs a crank pision sensor, seller has it just not installed yet. so my question,could either the c.p.s. or the 5in pipe couse this? as far as I can tell everything else on the truck is stock.

I'm pretty sure that the cps would not effect the sound of the turbo. The larger exhaust might make it a little louder. Did the others you drove that had more of a whistle have any kind of aftermarket cold air intake system or have the silencer ring removed? Either of those things will make the whine louder. I guess what I'm saying is that this truck may have a stock air intake and the silencer ring intact and that makes it quieter if that is what you mean by "sounded funny".

 

the other trucks have been mostley stock as far as I could tell. It just seemed to me that the turbo might have rettled a bit and did not realy wine as mutch. If that makes sence. he is putting the sensor in tomorow and I am going to take to a local shop wen. but thought I would try here as well.
