Nearly 3000 cash spent on 01 and still a piece of junk.

So heres the final skinny on everything

New remanned vp44 $1944.16 pump was 1395 plus tax came to 1520. and I kept the core which was 400.
New APPS $408.43
New camshaft sensor $76.50
New fuel filter like $10.00
Another new carter lift pump which makes 4lbs less than the old one $202.76
The truck and all of the parts were paid for out of my pocket,, I didnt put anything a credit card like most people, it all came out of my pocket.

Dodge sux

truck still has p1693 code.

dead pedal gone but truck accelerates so slow it might as well still have dead pedal.

and now only makes max of 22lbs of boost.

WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK

I took everyone advice and really stepped out on a ledge with this vp44 and the truck now drives slower than X mas.

edit Dodge

I wish I could be put into a cage with The CEO of Dodge.

Now I can honestly say I have gone out of my way to try and give the CTD a chance.

Anyone have a phone number to someone high up in Dodge?

Im so Crud off.

You're new lift pump is making less pressure then the old lift pump? That strikes me as suspicious and a likely source for the problem.

You say that it's 4 PSI less, so I take it you have a pressure gauge. What pressure are you seeing WOT?

I've heard of dead-on-arrival fuel pumps. For the love of God, please don't say that you're running your new VP on under 8 PSI...

that SO pump is going to make less power than your HO pump in stock form... plus, the edge is gone/turned off, so it's gonna feel like a turd compared to what your'e used to. I'd swap that lift pump out for a better one and put a Holley blue pump between the tank and the lift pump. you should be golden then.

P1693 is telling you to check the fault codes in the JTEC.

That's what the pumps cost on eBay, isn't it?

How much does it cost to get it installed?

The only way I could get a warranty on the new vp44 was if I had a new lift pump, or the reciept was not older than 7days. well the lift pump that was on the truck was only 16days old and made 16-17 at idle an never dropped below 7-9 at wot.

In order to comply with the warranty I had to return that lift pump and get another one so the reciept would show there was a new lift put on after the purchase of the new vp.

I have to R an R the lift pump again.

I got the pump for 1395 plus tax was around 1500 and I kept the old vp which was 400 bux. And I got a 12month unlimited mileage warranty.

The guy told me if they put the pump on it would be a 3 hr job and cost around 300bux.

thats great if you dont mind other people working on your stuff..

yes it will flow tiny bit more but you have to bomb it to do so.

The JTEC is the PCM, it controlls the transmission among other things.

you got CREAMED!!! holy cow! wayyyyy to much for the IP! and why did you replace the apps?? why did you replace the cam shaft sensor?? and you shoulda put a holley blue on there with the stock lp.

man, this swap should only cost about 1200 bucks....Thats with the helper pump included!

now you can buy a rebuilt pump for around 1000 bucks. Then a holley blue for 95. what made you think you had to change all that other crap at the same time?

it had low fuel pressure and was kicking an AAPS code... yes APPS was reset before and after replacement... so, lift pump and AAPS... nothing cured it, so time to buy an injection pump. $1350 today at a shop you can walk into and ***** someone out in person vs. $1000 and a week's wait for shipping from some unknown source seems like a pretty decent trade off to me.

I'd go ahead and get your core charge back on the old pump, it's a gonner.

sucks about the lift pump. I'd return/exchange it for one that's putting out some more pressure, plumb a Holley or similar pump on there to feed the stock lift pump, crank the Edge up and enjoy!
