How much are the vp44's from Napa? I looked on their website and couldn't find any info. I would try to find out where they source the pumps.

If it's painted black I'd send it back!

I have been running them with pretty good success. The one on there now has been on for over a year and half and with my recent upgrades I can't pull er down below 10 post filter. The one I use is black and is npt threaded not metric because I have done away with my banjo's at the lift pump. They are in the $170 range.

EDIT: never mind I just read VP-44. Yep black=junk vp-44

Not all black VP-44's are CZ made. Saw one at the local Cummins shop the other day and it was black, but it said: reman in USA. I would think a Cummins remaned pump should be a good one......only one bad thing....the price.....

Napas website is horrible, it is hard to find parts you are looking for on there, best bet is to go to the store and ask the people behind the counter what you need

You can say that again, for a big retailer their site is about Crap. I spent 10 minutes fooling around on there today (after reading this thread) and just gave up

They need a re-vamp, badly.

Napa wants $709.25 part #61-6010
Is this right? how can tey be $290.00 cheaper than everyone else?? If so, that is a all time low-record for the VP-44!!! We won't be able to keep going around complaining about "Thousand dollar" pumps.

The ones I've been getting for the last six months have been black, but also stamped "reman USA". One is currently on my truck so hopefully it will last.
