my first oil change....

my first oil change....

im doing the first oil change since i bought my truck i was going to use rotelle 15w40 and a wiks filter...but i need to know how much oil...not really sure on the amount of quarts it holds.

Should be about 12 , I use 12 litres and I think they are about like your quarts.

the Rotella 15w40 is what most of us on here use. You should only need 11 quarts of oil for her. i found Sams club has 3 one gallon cases for only $26. The Wix filter should be fine, i get my Fleetguard Stratapore filters from Geno's

Straight from the service manual....

A few things....fill the filter before you install it. When you fill it, wait a sec and you will see the level in it drop, then add some more.....repeat until is is full, but not so full you spill it when you install it. Then add the remainder of the 11 qt total to the motor, let it settle and check the level. You may need to add a bit mor, maybe not.
