my first diesel

Just picked up my first diesel
it an 01 QC 6 speed leather interior fully loaded disc all around and 3.55
with 126K KMs on it. Super stoked. I am going to be fabbing my own 4 inch exhaust and getting a juice/att and a airdog 150

Well I think that there is a boost leak.

It is whining really loud . . . embarrassing loud. and not going anyfaster
ie 8% grade with just me in the truck not towing or anything and I have to have it pinned to maintain 60mph and the turbo whine is almost unbearable. It is coming from the drivers side of the truck not from the turbo. I am going to check the piping coming of the intercooler in the am. How do I go about to determine where the leak is coming from?

Coming out of my street there is a steep hill that I can easily hit 80kph in my ford explorer and I can hit 50kph in the dodge.

Just check the rubber connections and you will more than likely find it at the intercooler down low.

it was one of the connections coming off of the intercooler. Now the truck has the power That I thought it should have.
