codes 230 and 577

i checked for codes on my truck tonight and it came up with 230 and 577. what are they?

does code P0230 mean my lift pump is ready to take a dirt nap?

my cruise dosn't work so code p0577 pobably has something to do with it.

what should i check to find out what is wrong?

P0230 Error - I would double check all wiring, fuses, and relay for the LP pump. It could be as simple as a dirt connection... But yes... It could be a sign that the LP is taking a dirt nap. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge???

P0577 Error - I'm not certain myself on this one. But Once again it sound like a wiring problem. Like the signal line is shorted to +5V line or something. I would gamble a guess at the clock spring. There was a lot of problems in the past about this but I would check everything out first...

no i don't have a fuel pressure guage on it so might put on a new pump this week to be safe. Does anyone have the Cummins part number for the better lift pumps, the school bus pumps?

I bought the extended warranty so i could just let the LP die and kill the injection pump too and get both pumps replaced for $200 (the cost of the deductible on my warranty)

Mopar1973man - how much did that pump and fuel line setup cost and where did you get your lines from. i need to upgrade my fuel system to get ready for more power
