MAP Sensor or Turbo Boost Sensor?

I called the dodge dealer and asked for a price on a MAP sensor and they told me it was called a Turbo Boost Sensor. Is this the same sensor? I was told it was a dealer item only, but 182.00? ANy one have any feedback on if the sensors are the same one and where I can get one cheaper I would appreciate the input. Thanks!

Yeah it is the same sensor. I called up my local dealer and they wanted an obscene amount of money for it and a short adapter harness to plug into it. I guess it was updated at some point. After talking to the dealer I called my local cummins dealer and the part was $78. They didn't have the adapter in stock, so I still have to get it.

For both the MAP sensor (yes it's offical name, Manifold Absolute Presure) and the wire harness adapter, which is only needed for 2002's because the new MAP sensor is the same for 2001 and 2002 but 2002 has a different plug, try www.hoeslidiesel.com

Just got a Map sensor from Cummins for $78. They call it a pressure sensor and we had a tough time figuring it out but they got it in the next day and all is good. Dodge will break it off in ya if you're not careful.

You do not need to change the connector!

I was told that I'd need a different sensor and wire harness to adapt to the "new style" by the dodge dealer.

"poppy_kock"

I got a replacement from cummins (part number 4921505 - has flat connector just like the original)

I had read elsewhere here about part number 3417030; this part no longer exists and is replaced by the one cited above.

4921505 was $84 and in stock at my local cummins dealer.

BTW - You'll need 2 different sockets to R&R this part. The new one "4921505" has a 27mm Deep Well, and the OEM was a 1 1/4" deep well. I wasted more time than I care to share figuring this out my self. I assumed the new part was the same size as the old - this is not the case.

Take care
