MAP Sensor

Had my truck throw a PO237 after bringing it to the dealer today for a valve adjustment. I am reading that it may be the MAP sensor. Anyone know where it is located? I have a feeling maybe it was unplugged and they forgot to put it back on during the service.

Po237

Thanks that article is helpful, I looked for something similar to that under the hood but was lost in the wiring harness for a bit. Came back in to look into it. Going to check the T-connection for the MAP that my chip has, see if it's messed. I have tried my chip unplugged completely and still have the same start problem. Hopefully the map is just dirty and I will be on my way, I will post my results when I figure it out.

still have problems

Disconnected the chip sensor this morning and reconnected the factory wiring directly to the MAP was a no go, then pulled the MAP and cleaned it well put it back in and the motor won't even crank looks like the batteries are low so going to try to find someone to jump it.

Dead in the water

Well the jump start attempt didn't do anything, I have 11.86 volts at both batteries, plenty to at least get a tick tick, out of the starter, I am getting nothing. Anyone have any advice? Would a bad MAP sensor cause this? I am dead in the water hear with winter fast approaching.

It's a 99, I assume if the MAP was starting to fail it would still run, but if it was completely shot would it cause a no start problem like this?

Hey, right now I have a bad map sensor. it is unplugged. I have an edge comp box, now if I plug the map in it goes to limp mode, unplug, runs fine. leave the chip connected & undue the sensor. see what happens.
