Our freightshaker is having troubles.....BAAAD troubles.It has the same 5.9L 24V as a derge so hopefully someone can help.

At idle it is smoking like a Forest fire.Fuel smoke.Burns my eyes,smells like raw diesel.After it idles for a few seconds and you go to take off it pops and bangs and skips like when our Gasser race cars do when they load up.Also,it is a gutless wonder truck with no power.Lastly,driving down the road running though the gears it will suddenly go into limp mode and you have to quickly flip the switch off and back on.

If you start the engine...then stomp the accelerator to the floor in neutral and it spits and sputters white smoke and stumbles then your Bosch VP44 injection pump needs replaced.
Replace the lift pump while your at it or have someone check the psi output of the lift pump to make sure its putting out at least 12-14 psi at idle and 7-9psi @ wide open throttle.

 

That is what I figured.The Lift pump died not to long ago and last time it did that the IP burned up along with it.
