Lately when I fire up my truck it will turn over slow and once fired the volt meter will read very low and the check guages light will come on. After about 10 seconds then it will go back to normal. Any ideas of what might be wrong?

 

mine always does that, atleats when it is cold out. the heat grid draws so mush power right at start up.

 

How old are your batteries?

Sounds like they're getting a little "long in the tooth".

Mine were replaced 3 years ago.......

 

7 years on them, wow, I'm impressed.

Mine are getting a little toothy, barely over 4 years on the stockers.

According to the voltmeter anyway, truck still starts on 1 crank.

We are 5-6 years now on the stock batteries, neon green test light is still good
