Losing Power Randomly!

Got a 01 4x4 5 spd reg cab bone stock and in the morning the thing jut won't go! You can mash the go pedal in any gear and it just doesn't accelerate at all. If you flip the key off and back on it will work but you may have to do it 4 or 5 times until it warms and then it doesn't really do it. When it does it when it's warmed up I can just disengage the clutch and then engage it again and it's back to normal. Every thing else seems to work fine and it's not throwing a code. Seems to be a sensor or something to me but I'm not positive. Thanks for the help!

could be your APPS or vp 44 but first check all your grounds and make sure the battery posts are clean

Mine did that for almost 100K miles. Changed everything but the VP44. It failed to start one day, I replaced the VP44 and it never did it again. It never tripped the light with the bad pump but it did when the Apps went out.

This is called 'dead pedal', and is common with the computer issues on the VP44.
It may drive for a long time and may quit next week.

blue chip is the place to call for info, or thier web site.

Well guys, I think yall are right. We were planning on selling it anyways to help fund fixing up our other Gen 1. Hopefully it will hold and some one will still want for the right price. Really dont feel like pouring money into this thing. Thanks for the help, as always this site is the best. From what blue chip said... No way to fix it besides a pump huh

I agree with dead pedal. My room mates 2nd gen has had it twice. Any gear mostly when cold, he could mash the pedal and it'd just keep where it was like he was barely on it. Both times it was his vp.
Hate to say that. Hopefully it'll hold on for ya.
