Loose Throttle Response, Drop to Idle???
Loose Throttle Response, Drop to Idle???
So here's the codes that pop up:
PCU - 1693: "Threw Code" code
ECU - 0253: Injector Pump Metering Control A: Fuel Valve Open Circuit
ECU - 1689: ?????
So I turned off my Comp Chip a year ago, mechanic said thy are usually the cause. Not the case though, still does it. Was towing over the 4th weekend and turned the Edge Chip back on, within 10miles no throttle response.
So here's what happens:
Loose all throttle response, truck drops to idle. I pull over, shut her down, wait 10-30seconds, start her back up, check engine light stays on, but truck seems to work fine. A day or two later check engine light goes off. Now, I know it's not the injector pump because I added a Fass fuel pump and maintain minimum 20psi at all times (the fuel gauge is in the cab), even when this happns.
What do you guys think?
I talked with Dodge, first guy was a Edit, I didn't even explain the whole problem and he goes " need a new injector pump" without even looking at the truck.
I talked with a buddy who's a Dodge parts guy, he thought it might be an O2 sensor or something, but was unsure.
Thanks in advance,
John

So after everyones post on Timbo01's APPS sensor, I went straight to the horses mouth. He thinks the codes are pointing to the VP44, and not the APPS as I thought. Anybody else have any ideas to try before I guess I slam a new VP44 in her?
Here's the other thing, is it better to get a new VP44 from Dodge (at cost, I know someone) or is there an aftermarket one that has better endurance/performance?
Thanks,
John

OK, light came on again today, new code:
ECU 0237 Turbocharger Boost A Circuit: Manifold Absolute Pressure, MAP Sensor Voltage Too Low
Is this related or altogether different?
Thanks,
John
