Location of TPS/Apps?
Where is this TPS/APPS located? i Have searched many websites, seen many pictures of this monster but have have not seen (exactly) where it is located. Is is visible or do i need to remove the throttle assembly? or am i looking in the wrong place? I have the "noise problem" or "gear hunting" issue. Some say it can be cleaned others say no. I have heard cost of replacement anywhere from $40.00 (us) up to $900.00 (us). I am aware of the "filter" that can be bought to help this problem. I also have learned about cleaning the grounds and the batteries and checking all the electrical connections and the wire being run with the alternator wires and the voltage spikes.
But my question is: Where is this located? is it visible to the eye or do i need to remove some parts. I am not a mechanic but with a little info and lots of ambition i can fix some problems.
Thanks in advance,

If you'll look in my gallery at the pic, it is located under the black cover, (below dip-stick). I got mine from Cummins South Plains for $336.

Just installed the noise filter last night 7-7-05. I will monitor and keep in touch. This last week the problem has been almost non existant (once or twice) since i wiggled and checked a few connections and grounds. I didn't find anything loose or bad but maybe just moving them temporarily helped the problem.

Noise Filter
I installed the noise filter back on 7-7-05. It has been good since except when the A/C MAX is on. Regular A/C it is ok. but when the A/C Max is turned on it acts up. Next thing is to seperate the wires from the large cluster. any other ideas?

Here is something that I noticed, might mean nothing? I cleaned my battery terminals a couple of months back and reset my apps. Shortly there after I started getting the T/C unlocking problem. I went out and started checking everything and tried to wiggel the neg. side terminals and they moved! So, I got the wrench to tighten 'em up. They wouldn't tighten anymore, noticed they were bottomed out.
I gave the bolt on the terminal some slack and used a rubber hammer to tap the terminal further down on the post. As I did, I noticed they started to spead apart just a hair. I put the wrench to them again and could not wiggle them loose. T/C unlocking gone.! I never took the terminal off or reset the apps. Must be a bad ground issue.
