Lift pump warranty question
Lift pump warranty question
I could have sworn I've seen it somewhere but could not locate it using search. Is the lift pump covered under the engine warranty? I hope so, Ithink I am about to lose mine. Changed the Fuel filter on saturday and ever since it sounds different. It's hard to explain, since this is my first diesel but I'll try, I think it is the injector pump that sounds different. The higher/lighter tapping noise seems to be more obvious than it was, and the acceleration does not feel quite right. Also, I noticed that after running at speed for a short period when I go to slow down and stop at a light of stop sign it will cut out as it approaches idle.
I know I need gauges, they're on order (ISSPro on backorder still) so I guess I'll take it to the dealer or Cummins shop this weekend.

Re:Lift pump warranty question
Lift pump is under warranty.
I know that the service writer that took a look at my truck asked me if I had noticed a power issue. I said no my fuel pressure gauge read 0 psi.
So appearently they know that the issue exists with a low power problem.
Do you have someone who could check the pressure at the shrader valve going into the injection pump?
