Unhappy leaking transmission coolant lines

Hi, My husband and I are new to this forum but have a problem that has plaquing us for months; two rubber transmiision lines with quick connectors at each end, from the hard line to the radiator end. We tried ordering new lines with quick connectors only to get them installed and still have them leak. So my husband tried to patch them up with heated hose, but that is not working. He is thinking of using hard line (like copper line?) with compression fittings. Does anyone out there have experience with this problem? We could sure use some tips on how to fix this seeming easy repair.
Thank You,
Michael and Sharon

you can replace the rubber lines with transmission cooler hose from auto zone or napa , but use the clamps designed for fuel injection, and double up on them........no leaks

Thanks John, we will give it a try. Right now though he is a little concerned that we let the trans run dy and ruined it, so I may be back with worse problems, thanks for your response though.

right before those metal line's turn into rubber they cross over the frame on the driver's side of the block.make sure the line hasn't wore through rubbing on the frame.leak's like this can travel down the line and appear like it is comming from another area

There was a recall back on the 94's that concerned changing the plastic fittings at the trans to metal ones for the cooler lines. This should not be a problem on your year unless the trans hasn't been replaced or changed, but check there too.

I have (twice) blow the pressure line on the tranmission cooler (knocks on wood) and my Xmsn is still holding. I went and bought actual HYD line, used a tubing cutter and removed the fitting, ran the line through back around. installed new flex bumpers so the alum lines wont rub on the axle tubes or the oil pan. Took off the old holders. Works great now.

Did you remove the bumper to get the transmission cooler lines off or did you remove the radiator?

I was able to disconnect the transmission cooler lines at the cooler without dropping the bumper or pulling the radiator/inter-cooler.

I just moved the cooler inlet & outlet a little to unscrew the clamps. I had just enough play.

Took the lines to my neighboorhood hose man and he fixed the lines by removing the quick-disconnect and installing an AN fitting with new high pressure hose.

It cost me approx. $55 total to fix both lines !!! A huge difference in reference to the dealer.

Thanks for the comment.
