Late shift to 2nd gear, bucking, P1765

My 2001 with an auto transmission is shifting late into 2nd gear, then bucking a bit before smoothing out, and this occurs mostly when cold. It threw code P1765 (Transmission voltage relay circuit) and companion code P1693.
I took it to the local transmission shop which couldn't reproduce the problem because it's a bit subtle and intermittent. They cleared the code, and advised me that it's probably a control or voltage problem outside of the transmission.
The truck tows an 8,000 pound toyhauler with no problem. All other gears and performance seem OK. I'm using ATF+4 which seems to make all other gears shift smoothly.
I'd be glad to hear any ideas. Thanks.

I'm surprised to see no responses.
I guess I'll change the air in the tires and see if that helps

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Was the KD band adjsuted??? Look at the band adjustment screw on left side of case. If no threads protude past the lock nut, the band is worn out and will cause delay upshift and roughness.
