intercooler

ok, first post here. I am new to dodge and even newer to CTD, but I do know a bit about sport tunning (have been an avid VW tunner for years). I was just wondering if a larger intercooler and stainless piping would effect the CTD the way it effects other turbo vehicles. I have been doing some research about moding my truck and have never seen anything about uping the intercooler... why? Sorry if this is a stupid question for you veterans, but like I said I am new to this whole diesel thing. Just trying to figure it out.

Re:intercooler

Nobody seems to be helping you, so I will.

Your 24v has the biggest intercooler made for the dodge trucks. The 94-98.4 12v trucks intercooler is 1.5" shorter then yours and the 91.5-93 12v trucks are even smaller yet.

You are right to think that there is a advantage to have a bigger intercooler (Stainless piping won't help) but there just isn't the room to fit a larger unit up front. Thats why a larger turbo or twin turbo's makes the most sence.

Re:intercooler

I think I remember one guy putting an intercooler, that is on the 2001's, on a first gen non-intercooled engine. But it would be impossible without changing the whole front end to put a bigger one on than the late 2nd gens.

Re:intercooler

You can put a 24v intercooler in a 12v truck also, with its 1.5" taller profile you will get alittle more cooling.
