Thought this kind of weird. There is no lift pump on the engine, only one in the tank. There is a bypass block were the lift pump use to be and there is a relay on the firewall. I heard this was a retrofit from the factory. With a calibrated mechanical gauge I have 10psi at idle. Do I need to do anything? I'm not planning on doing much in the way of performance other than maybe a bigger turbo and exhaust. Cooling for towing.
I would MUCH rather deal with a block or frame mounted pump when it dumps than drop the tank or raise the bed along the road........
Your call, most guys say they last and last, I have had to do 3 or 4 of them..... Not my favorite job.

Thats a cheap bypass the factory used to save money on a section of fuel line. You can take it off and run the fuel line directly to the back of the filter. The FASS kit I bought comes with all the fittings.
You will need to locate a stock fuel pick up unit so you can keep the fuel gauge working...Redlinear sells them for about $100.
Don't despair, that is a nice truck you bought...

$4+ grand and 7 months later. It is starting to come into shape. At least it is a reliable daily driver now.
