I think I know the real reason for the lp in the tank conversion

If I was a big auto. company, and was held to returning the biggest returns to my stockholders.,,,,,,I would try and figure out a way to not have the LP included in the 100,000 mile warranty. The easiest way to do that would be to not have it be mounted on the motor ((i.e..part of the motor assembly), then I would assert that the warranty is not part of the cummins 100K warranty, but part of the "rest of the truck" warranty. Which, hopefullly, is expired by the time you need it.

If I did that, I think I would be able to post big $$$ gains immieditely,,,,and the dealers and shops would be able to extract serious cash from there on out for l.p. problems.

Has anyone checked to see if the "in tank" fuel pumps, are now not part of the cummins warranty any longer????? I would almost give you five to one odds if I was a betting man (but I'm not).
OK<
Just my thoughts.

I also have a feeling the executive that figured that one out got a real big bonus????

Oh, if this is true, there was a FAT bonus in order for that guy!

Good thinking.

I had kind of wondered about it too, if that's the case the Dodge dealer won't get my money, I'll just put a FASS on it.

The same would go for the vacuum pump seal, which until recently could not be replaced.

I just read on another thread that the in-tank pump IS covered by engine warranty, but I have a hard time believing that Dodge would be that generous.

I would be very surprised if that were true.
