Hours

Just saw a topic on the 3rd gen side of the world asking about hour readings. i tried what was suggested with my gen 2, which was hold the odomoter reset button down while in odomoter mode and bumping the key on, no start. I got this:

It started with the word chec for a few seconds, then flashed every segment of the led in the odomoter, then bottomed all the gauges (everything, speedo and tach too), then centered all the gauges, then went to the high end of all of them, then showed all the lights. I never knew I had a trans temp light. But I still got no hour reading.

Don't mean to re-route the other guys thread, but has anyone ever tried this before and is it possible to get an hour reading on a gen 2?

The order in which you do it might be the issue. Try this:

1) Turn key to "run" position
2) Make sure that the ODO is showing and not the trip counter.
3) Press and hold the trip/ODO button until the "hrs" display shows up (about 5 seconds).

Charliez, I did the same thing on my truck and I thought I broke something. Glad it was just a gauge diagnostic.
