Holset H35W Question only 14lbs? Normal?

1999 Dodge Ram Cummins 24v with <93K miles. What is the boost suppose to be? According to my autometer (which is tapped in at elbow on top) I am only getting 14LBS Max. Did I not tap into the right place or am I losing boost somewhere? Anyone have any ideas?

Jared

Your boost gage should be hooked in on the drivers side of the block there is a connector that hooks under the fuel rail between 5 and 6 cylinders that gives you the boost pressure in the intake. also you might want to change your elbow on the turbo that feeds the waste gate that will also give you more boost pressure.

You won't see anymore than about 17-19 tops without fueling additions (especially with the automatic). The HY-35 turbo on the autos normally top out at around 18-19 psi unless you have a j-hook or turnbuckle on the wastgate lever.
