I want to replace the lift pump with an aftermarket. Which one by holley is the dependable one? The marine blue, the marine black, standard blue or what. Man I am confused already......

 

I run a Holley Black on mine and I've got 19.6 psi at idle and 13.2 at WOT with pump wire hooked up. ;D

 

There have been some quality issues with the Holley line of fuel pumps lately. At least this is what PushRod said. I do not know if this has been resolved yet or not. I'd recommend the Performance Engineering pump, but problems with them have surfaced and PE has pulled them from the market until the problems are resolved.
At this point it's a crap shoot for an aftermarket pump. I have a Holley Blue on mine, but I bought NOS off of Ebay so it predates the quality issues.

I had two dud Holley Blacks [my new truck is black]
and a failed PE 4200.
I have had the best luck with a Holley blue
Had to use it when the Holley black [my new truck is black] was not available due to quailty control issues.
Then after all the hoorahs for the PE 4200 I had a custom mount made and used it with our Wildcat fuel system...it lost pressure down to 5 at cruise and near 0 at WOT.
Needless to say, the Holley blue [my new truck is black not blue ;D] that was/is in the factory position and is running strong again and has about 30,000 miles on it now.

My fuel pressures are 13 at idle, 10-11 at cruise and never drops below 7 at WOT and that was with the TST Powermax 3 Comp on level 9, stage 3's, B1 Kwik Spool and the Scotty Air that SUX COOOOOooooOOOoOoOooooL AIR! The pressures would recover to 10 even at WOT after a few seconds. Black

Did I mention what color the new truck is? :

Hmmmm, I was sure that I saw the order sheet at Nipawin Chrysler and it was Mary Kay Cosmetics Pink that was checked off.

Scotty..I'm confused?? ??? is your new truck Black & Blue, or is it Blue with Black, or plain Black with Blue seats, or plain Blue with Black seats, or Black on Black or Blue on Blue? : : Or is it plain Pink? ;D If you have a blue pump that worked fine, why didn't you just paint it Black for the Black truck, instead of buying 2-Black pumps that didn't work on the Black truck?

The problem with the PE pumps are that there black & blue ;D
