it is the spring behind the airbag that makes it work. They break often and cause your problem.

Tig, you can try to get the codes from the odometer. Start with the key off, and turn to the 'on' position, stopping at the 'on' position the third time. The odometer will flash the ECU codes, then PCU codes (or vice versa).
Let us know what they are.

Smile Thanks guys

Thanks guys
The problem is this truck is about 75 miles away.I'am debating on buying this truck. I don't want to buy this animal and stick several thousand dollars in it. Do you guys think this truck is worth 12,000 dollars. Now I just called the guy yesterday. Thanks tig

I would take the drive if it is what you are looking for. It has a plow- 2000.00 roughly, plus the dump box- how much is to put one on?so in order to set up the same truck, you would need to find one for at the most 8000.00.
If you have to put 2000.00 (injection pump) into it in repairs, would it still be worth it?

Aside from the dash lights, I'd be more concerned with the truck having a 53-block. I know some guys run 53-blocks and never have a problem, but I would never sleep good at night if my truck had one.

Also, if it's the clockspring, often times the cruise control doesn't work along with the the air bag light coming on and perhaps the horn doesn't work.

I just put one in my wife's Durango. Takes about 1 hr and part cost $60 at dealer. Could have gotten it online for $45!
