Help Finding Rear End Specs.?
Hi all, I have searched and found lots of info great info on this site and I think it is great. I have been searching for quite some time again tonight to find some specs. on the D70 rear end with no luck. This is my first posting and I was wondering if someone could tell me where I could find the page that was from Genos garage with all the torques, preloads, backlash adjustments, fluid capacities, etc. for my 2001. I checked on Genos site and was unable to find it. I do remember someone having the link on their forum for this though and the top of the page said Genos Garage on it. Thanks a bunch.

Oh boy
I just did the rebearing on my 01 rear end, and the only thing I found, was that I had to add a bunch of shim thickness to the pinion, to reduce the preload, as the stock shims made it way too tight.
Otherwise, if its a simple bearing job, as long as the bearings mic out the same, you shouldn't have any problems with setting it back to the same spec it was at when you took it apart. My side shims on the center section remained the same, as did the depth shims behind the cup for the rear pinion bearing. Contact pattern was perfect.
For the wheel bearings, I simply set them to . 004" endplay, and called it good. THis way they are not so loose as to wobble, and not so tight as to overheat.
