help diagnose a couple noises

I've been hearing a couple noises lately that I can't figure out. One is a clicking sound while decelerating (engine braking). It doesn't happen while coasting. I thought it was a U-joint going out, but they are fairly tight. Sounds like a bearing, but which one? Also, I occasionally hear a squeak at low speed. Sounds like the front right wheel. Maybe the front bearing assembly going out? I only have 91k miles, but I've been running 37s for 70k...
Any suggestions where to look and a good driveway check?

Maybe a brake pad? If you have a warped rotor maybe its causing the pad on that front wheel to move around.
Start from the outside and work your way in.

I had the exact same description for noise and found the trailer hitch loose and a Ujoint ready to fall out. No more squeaks and clangs.

A U-joint can feel tight, but can be totally trashed and even to the point of having ground up the needle bearings, a good indication of a failed U-joint is ANY rust colored dust near the caps or on the U-joint. If you see rust its a bet that its failed

thanks guys. i have gotten to the point that an empty hitch clanking around bugs the crap out of me, so i keep it out unless i'm towing. i think i'll do the u-joints for good measure... 4 of them in the rear with the double cardan joint...
looks like I'll be busy this Saturday morning!

once that's done, maybe the squeak will go away or fix itself! i'm REALLY hoping the front bearings aren't going.... doesn't sound like a fun project, but maybe that's the time for the manual hub with real bearings

yours must be different than mine, no double carden joint back there, typically its the rear U-joint that fails on the rear shaft...
so did you find a bad joint or rust??
